Osama Bin Laden is dead.
And america celebrates the greatest accomplishment in the history of our country.
But while the world sighs in relief and cheers for joy, I sit here in silence.
My stomach has turned upside down and terror consumes my entire body.
what have we done?
we have killed a man.
what have we become?
a people who find comfort,
joy.
humor
in death itself.
we are savage, selfish creatures thirsting for justice everywhere except our own consciousness. We are elated at the death of a terrorist, the death of a criminal, the death of a thief. but we cry out in anger when taking responsibility for our own actions, our own ability to choose good over evil.
god cries today.
what is wrong with us. we're celebrating a man's death for crying out loud.
sure. the murderer has been murdered, justice has been served, and lives will be saved. but the truth is,
we are all both heroes and sinners.
so stop pretending the world is a better place.
today, god lost a soul.
dont forget that there is still evil out there in the world.
dont forget that we are all human.
and until we learn to stop killing eachother
this world will never be free.
So yes
It's may 1, 2011
and yes, Osama Bin Laden is dead.
But no, we are not free.
This is the difference between the murderer and the martyrer-
we are the same
and we both died today.
