an auburn soul

We are the silent voices of all the ones remembered. We are the vicious cry of the ones forgotten. We will feed our bleeding mouths with the faith of those who See, and with those who choose to be. We love the laughter of the children, clinging innocence in a tainted world. Singing, singing, ever so softly, to remind them we are always there. And as the last leaves of the carnival tree fall faster to a dying earth, we will stop her coy mistress and find the words of Her enemy. An auburn soul left in retreat, of rash decisions, passions meet. A reddened corpse among the leaves, a blushing enemy of the trees. We are the prayers, as red as gold, too far to meet. You're soul is ours we hope to keep.

"A human being is a part of a whole. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty" -Albert Einstein
