the invisibles

He sits there, prying his way into my soul with each breath he takes. The pain is overwhelming. The darkest envy of my heart cuts into my mind until all I can think about is how desperately I wish I could sit with him, hold him tight and tell him everything will be okay. But now I am just a shadow- slowly disappearing,
fading,
     fading
           fading,
               away.

I am an Invisible now.

I awake, drenched in sweat. Dry tears sting warm and sticky on my cheeks
as I sit up in bed, gasping for breath. My existance freezes in time,
I have forgotten how to remember- again.
The dreams wont stop coming back. They act like the cry of my subconscience,
screaming, fighting to be heard.

This is the thirty fifth-time I have dreamt of the Invisibles.

"A human being is a part of a whole. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty" -Albert Einstein
