looking into the sun: Music Camp!

Well, last saturday me and my friend, kelsey, got back from lubbock. We went to Texas Tech Band and Orchestra camp. It was really fun!!! So we got there sunday, July 6th by plane. (The plane ride itself is a whole other story) Then we checked in at the student union building, got our id badges, and schedules. We were sooo confused the first day because there wasn't any classes going on and we had no idea where anything was. So we met up with austin and we went on an adventure around campus. We were looking for a subway (austin said there was a subway somewhere) because kelsey was hungry. So we get completely lost and end up walking across some trail thing with big trees everywhere. All of a sudden a HUGE hawk swooped down and hit me in the face! Then it went back into the tree. Then it swoops down and hits kelsey in the face! And we are all like "What in the world?!!!" I mean, what are hawks doing in the middle of college station?? So, we get to the end of the trail (END OF THE TRAIL) after being assulted by birds, and see a small sign that says, "Home of Kite Hawks. Caution, hawks may attempt to steer you away from their nest. So, for safety precaution, stay off the trail." And so we were all like, that would have been a nice thing to know, BEFORE we got attacked by hawks, but w/e. Ok, well anyway monday we started classes. Here's my schedule: 6:45am-breakfast; 8:00am-Full Band Rehearsal; Sectional; 10:15-Assembly; Master Class (flute); 12:45pm-luch; 2pm- Full Band Rehearsal (again); Elective 1: Flute Choir; Elective 2: Woodwind Quintet; 6:00pm-dinner; 8-11pm-on campus activities. Sooo, yeah. We were out and about all day long with NO breaks in between classes! But it was still a blast! The only thing I didn't like was Full band rehearsal because the music was Beginner Band easy and I kept falling asleep in class. It was SOO BORING! Well, thats all we did all week long. Then we came back that saturday in the middle of a severe thunderstorm. Soooo yeah. Oh yeah, and for the activities we did at night...Pool party, Dances, movies, etc...
