forgiveness

It's one word we all know,
but don't try to understand.
One word we all say,
but don't ever really mean.
One word we wish for,
but dont do it ourselves.
It's not a noun. It's a verb. It's yesterday and tomorrow. It's living and loving and hurting all at the same time. You fight it because you don't think you deserve it. And you don't give it because you don't think you can ever truly, forget.
We lie to ourselves, we lie to our kids, and we lie to our world. Why? Because we are all hurting.
Such a pretty little lie. But when really meant, it can change lives.
You see, forgiveness isn't about letting go of the past or forgetting it. It's about accepting the past, and remembering why you screwed up in the first place. It's not covering up when you make a mistake, it's loving your mistakes
all it really means to forgive,
is to love.

They tell me I'm just going to get hurt again. They tell me it's not worth it. They tell me I don't know anything about love. And maybe I don't. But I do know HOW to love. And it isn't just something I'm willing to sacrifice.
Because love is all we have. The only truth left in a chaotic and deceptive world.
And this is the greatest truth i have ever known.

he's not a liar, he's not a coward, he's not a fake.
He's human.

And i love him.

"A human being is a part of a whole. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty" -Albert Einstein
