I saw you, when you wouldn't see,
I cried inside, when you had to leave,
I laughed, I lied, what's on your mind?
I told you once, one time, one time.
I held your hand, and you held mine
but I could feel, what you lost inside
I gave you comfort, on the cloudy days
I saw you try, to push it away
I found a way, to make things right
but I failed, I think, I think I might.
I lived, I died, looking at those eyes,
I watched, I cried, when they said goodbye.
You would have changed, in a heartbeat-
but there was something much larger, it was an instinct.
You looked at me, as I looked away
You asked me why, and I found my way
You cried the tears, that I knew were there
but you wouldn't accept that it was fair
I lost what I had found before,
but losing you, would let me see
the person that I want to be
I'm not lost,
I'm not found,
I'm just me..
and that's the only person
I will ever be.

"A human being is a part of a whole. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty"
-Albert Einstein
