Battles

Life is hard.
It's this continual battle that we fight. For some it's fighting cancer. For others it's fighting wars. It's coming home to parents screaming at eachother. It's loosing a friend. It's living on the street. It's getting in a car accident. It's fighting with your mom. It's getting abused. It's being in prison. It's a death in the family. It's regret. It's pain. It's all the things people go through. Everyone has their own story, their own battles. And we can't just go about our days, with all the people we come in contact with at work, and at school, and just pass people by and not realize the hardships they could be going through. I just think we should take more care to really look at the people around us, really look at them, and see them as more than just "some person" . To see them as individuals with different stories and backgrounds. We need to take it upon ourselves to care for those people that we don't know and in doing so, will make our own lives
a little less hard.

"A human being is a part of a whole. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty" -Albert Einstein
